Chromebits - Archived

What is a Chromebit?

The Chromebit is a dongle running Google's Chrome OS operating system. When placed in the HDMI port of a television or a monitor, this device turns that display into a personal computer. Chromebit allows adding a keyboard or mouse over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

How does CSPD utilise Chromebits?

Schools can purchase Chromebits to be used exclusively with the Chrome Digital Signage Application. This allows schools to display notices via the Google suite (Docs, slides, etc) or websites that don't require user authentication on TV's that are positioned around the school.

Chromebits can be purchased from our preferred suppliers. Chromebits require a Google Management license to operate within the CSPD network. They are setup the same as there counterpart Chromebooks, however, they use the AGEIDChrome@parrastu account to enrol them.
